When my husband surprised me with a bunch of roses from his trip to the grocery store, he knew I would want to paint them. Our cat Binkie is an infamous rose thief who chews on the petals and leaves. I stored them in the fridge at the end of each session to keep them fresh and to stop her marauding. The green octagonal ginger jar was an Etsy find that I knew would find its way into one of my still life works.
